Former Parkland school resource officer found not guilty on all charges

A Florida jury acquitted former Parkland school resource officer Scot Peterson on all charges related to his actions during the 2018 school shooting. Peterson sobbed in court while a judge read the verdict finding him not guilty on seven counts of felony child neglect, three counts of culpable negligence, and one count of perjury. 60-year-old Peterson had been accused by prosecutors of ignoring his training and failing to confront the gunman who killed 17 people, including 14 students.
