French Finance Minister defends pension reform on 12th day of national strike

French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire called the proposed pension reform “vital” in an interview with CNN Thursday. Le Maire argued the proposal will ensure there is a financial balance in France by 2030. France’s Constitutional Council will rule Friday on whether to accept, modify, or reject President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64.
