Holiday shopper captures moment of shooting at Mall of America

A 19-year-old man was killed in a shooting that prompted a lockdown at the Mall of America on December 23, according to CBS Minnesota, citing authorities.

In a press conference, Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said that prior to the shooting, it appeared there was a physical altercation between two groups, involving anywhere between five and nine people.

“We have an incident where if someone decides to pull out a gun and shoot somebody with a complete lack of disrespect for human life, I still don’t know what we can do to stop that,”Hodges said.

Jovonta Patton was filming as a loud bang was heard, prompting shoppers to run for cover.

According to CBS, police had not arrested anyone in connection to the shooting at the time of writing.
