House votes to block Biden’s student loan forgiveness program
The House of Representatives voted 218-203 to pass a measure Wednesday blocking President Biden’s student debt relief plan that would allocate up to $20,000 in loan forgiveness and end the pandemic-era student loan payment pause. The resolution is unlikely to garner the Democratic votes needed to pass in the Senate while Biden has voiced his plan to veto it.
