Houston infant dies after being left in sweltering car
Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir with the Houston Police Department updated the media on Tuesday regarding a child death investigation. Bashir reported that at 3:25pm, HPD received a call from HFD stating a three-month-old infant was responsive. Upon arrival, officers learned the child had been left unattended in a vehicle. The child was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Bashir took the opportunity to remind parents and caregivers to always check the backseat and never leave a child unattended in a vehicle for any amount of time.
