Merck sues government over Medicare drug price negotiation, calls new law ‘tantamount to extortion’
Pharmaceutical giant Merck filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government Tuesday in an effort to halt a Biden administration program giving Medicare the authority to negotiate prescription drug prices. In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Merck claimed the new law is “unconstitutional” and does not involve genuine negotiation.
