Michigan AG charges 16 ‘fake electors’ over efforts to overturn the 2020 election

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel held a press conference Tuesday to announce federal charges against 16 “fake electors” who signed certificates falsely claiming former President Donald Trump had won Michigan in the 2020 election. All sixteen individuals, including Michigan Republican Party Co-Chair Meshawn Maddock, face eight federal charges related to election law and forgery.
