Congressman Jamie Raskin announced Wednesday he has a serious but curable form of cancer.

The Maryland Democrat said in a statement he's been diagnosed with diffuse large b cell lymphoma.

Raskin said he will begin outpatient chemotherapy at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.

He said he still expects to be able to work.

Raskin serves on the January 6th House Select Committee and was also just elected by his colleagues to serve as the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee.
