SCOTUS to hear challenges to affirmative action

Monday, the Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether colleges and universities can continue to consider race as a factor in admissions. Challengers in these cases are targeting Harvard University and the University of North Carolina. They argue the schools' admission programs violate equal protection principles, eliminate the promise of a color-blind society, and discriminate against Asian-Americans.
