South Korean President calls for 'robust' defense posture of Taiwan
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol said in an interview that his country's top priority is providing a "robust" defense for Taiwan in the event of an attack from the Chinese. He went on to highlight the strategic importance defending Taiwan has for South Korea, noting, "In the case of military conflict around Taiwan, there would be increased possibility of North Korean provocation. Therefore, in that case, the top priority for Korea and the US./Korean alliance would be based on a robust defense posture. We must deal with the North Korean threat first."
