Speaker McCarthy signs resolution nullifying D.C. Crime bill
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy signed a resolution nullifying the D.C. Council’s Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022. The now-abolished bill would have given criminals reduced penalties for carjacking, assault, rape, and certain categories of murder. President Biden has confirmed he will sign off on the resolution.
