Supreme Court to hear case over whether an ADA “tester” can sue a hotel

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case over whether a self-appointed “tester” of the Americans with Disabilities Act has the right to sue hotels for non-compliance of disability laws. Deborah Laufer has filed a lawsuit against Acheson Hotels for not disclosing information about their property’s accessibility for disabled people on their website, alleging the hotel violates ADA laws. Laufer has never visited the hotel and has filed hundreds of similar lawsuits against establishments across the country.
