Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton hopes his $1.4 billion settlement with Meta over its unauthorized biometric data capture sends a big message to other technology companies. “You have to hit [Big Tech] with a lot of money fines or it doesn’t matter to them. They just figure it’s the cost of doing business,” he says.
