Tim Stewart reacts to Kansas EV factory’s reliance on coal plant: ‘No such thing as net zero’
U.S. Oil and Gas Association President Tim Stewart says the Kansas electric vehicle battery plant that requires so much energy it needs a coal plant for power is a “perfect example of how there are costs to everything.” “The fact of the matter is, that battery plant would not be in place to build EV batteries were it not for ‘good ol’ coal’,” says Stewart. “So there’s no such thing as net zero anymore in a circumstance like this.”
