Tornado hits Pfizer drug manufacturing site
A tornado caused significant damage to Pfizer's drug manufacturing site in Rocky Mount, N.C., potentially jeopardizing critical supplies for hospitals across the country. The facility produced about one-fourth of the injectable medications supplied to U.S. hospitals, including drugs used for surgeries, pain management, sedation, and fighting infections. However, the exact extent of the damage and the impact on the supply of drugs have not been disclosed by Pfizer yet.
