Treasury Sec. Janet Yellen says current banking collapse “is different” from 2008
Speaking in Washington D.C. at the American Bankers Association summit, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said the U.S. banking system “is sound.” “As I indicated, this is different than 2008. 2008 was a solvency crisis. Rather, what we’re seeing are contagious bank runs,” said Yellen.
