Woman arrested while spitting on officer at rally for Ukraine in D.C.

A woman, described by a witness as a supporter of Russia, was arrested by officers with the Secret Service’s Uniformed Division outside the Russian Embassy in Washington on October 10, as a demonstration in support of Ukraine was taking place. This footage, filmed by Viktoriia Savchuk, shows a woman arguing with a police officer at the scene, before she spits at him. In response, she is restrained by several officers and cuffed. In a tweet, Savchuk described the woman as a “Russia supporter”. WUSA9, the DC CBS affiliate, cited the Secret Service as confirming that someone was arrested at the rally for an alleged assault on a peace officer and for resisting arrest. The protest, organized by United Help Ukraine and US Ukrainian Activists, invited people to gather outside the embassy to rally against the actions of the Russian army.
