Some protesters carries signs reading "Not My King."
The coronation Saturday in London of King Charles III also brought out protesters including people wearing yellow T-shirts booing and shouting “Not My King” throughout the morning.
The leaders of several anti-monarchy groups said some of the their protesters were arrested before the coronation of the king.
The yellow shirts have been a symbol throughout Europe essentially anti-establishment, anti-government.
Republic, Britain’s largest anti-monarchy group, told CNN that police arrested organizers of the anti-monarchy protest, even though they were not creating problems.
Republic director Harry Stratton told the cable news outlet that at about 7 a.m. (2 a.m. ET) police stopped six of Republic’s organizers and told them they were being detained and searched.
Graham Smith, the chief executive of Republic, was among those detained, according to a video shared with CNN by the Alliance of European Republican Movements.
