The European golf team has won back the Ryder Cup title from the United States during the tournament this weekend in Rome.

Europe got 14.5 points on Sunday afternoon with single victories for Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton, Robert MacIntyre and Tommy Fleetwood, according to Sky News

The final score ended up being 16.5-11.5. The USA won the Ryder Cup back in 2021.

Team Europe's captain, Luke Donald, expressed his excitement during a TV interview.

“It has been a long process and an amazing journey,” Donald said during the interview, according to CNN

“It has been stressful," he added. "USA put up a fight today, they really did, so hats off to them. But I am so proud of my 12 guys. They formed a bond from day one, they gave me everything."

Donald said that the Ryder Cup is a special event and the whole team will remember this day forever.
