President Donald Trump on Monday nominated Kimberly Greenwhood, the wife of "God Bless the USA" singer Lee Greenwood, to serve as ambassador to Caribbean countries, including Barbados. 

Her nomination was among dozens sent to the Senate for judgeships, ambassadorships and administration officials, CBS News reported. 

"President Trump’s confidence in nominating me to serve as United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean," Kimberly Greenwood said in an Instagram post that included a photo of herself standing with Trump. 

Her nomination is to serve as ambassador to Barbados, and also, to serve without additional compensation as the top envoy to Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Typically, a single person serves simultaneously as ambassador to Barbados and several nearby Eastern Caribbean island nations, which don't have separate diplomatic posts.
