Biden immigration policy making U.S. 'less safe,' former border patrol leader says
Former U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner says border patrol is getting ready for a surge in illegal immigrants.
U.S. Customs and Border Protections are preparing for another surge in immigration through the southern border following President Joe Biden's message to Mexico that he'll cut illegal immigration by raising legal migration.
The Biden administration has also said it will reduce migration by increasing resettlement capacity, something the border patrol will have to face.
A White House statement from Jan. 23 states: "President [Joe Biden] outlined his plan to reduce migration by … increasing [migrant] resettlement capacity and lawful alternative immigration pathways [in the United States], improving processing at the [U.S.] border to adjudicate [migrants’] requests for asylum, and reversing the previous administration’s draconian immigration policies."
Former U.S. Customs and Border Protection acting Commissioner Mark Morgan told Breitbart News that America became a less safe country just hours after Biden was sworn in as president. He explained that the Migrant Protection Protocol (MPP), also known as the “Remain in Mexico” program, which Biden got rid of on his first day in office, had reduced the number of families migrating from Central America.
"With the stroke of a pen, President Biden made this country less safe," Morgan said in a Breitbart interview. "It’s pure politics over public safety."
Morgan added that the huge caravan or Hondurans traveling north is a direct result of Biden's "open border strategy."
In a list of immigration actions, the president has said he will send $4 billion to Central America to reduce the economic incentives of immigrating to America. He has also instructed immigration officials to release migrants being held for deportation in an effort to amnesty all illegal immigrants.
"Bottom line – we’re getting ready for another illegal immigration surge," Morgan said. "It was about law and order. ... It's just frustrating what I’m seeing right now. ... To me, it's all politics. It's all about politics. And our country's less safe because of it and it's just disgusting."
