Former Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren says that former President Donald Trump's peace plan for the Israel-Palestinian conflict was a good plan and is needed now.

"Other peace plans were aspirational, but they weren't realistic," Oren said on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast. "You had the advantage in the fact that Netanyahu had already embraced the plan. The Palestinians had rejected it without even reading it."

Earlier this week, Oren had an op-ed published in The Wall Street Journal that advocated for bringing back Trump's peace plan amid the Israel-Hamas war.

The plan under Trump was to have an independent Palestinian state and Israel would be recognized and have sovereignty over West Bank settlements, the BBC reported

"This was a great plan," Oren said, who was an advisor on it. "And we published it. It's interesting that we got attacked by the right and the left."

As the Israel-Hamas war rages on, Oren also made some predictions on what he thinks will happen in the coming days.

"I think you're gonna see some rapid unfolding of events, with perhaps very senior Hamas commanders being killed or captured in the next couple of days," Oren said.
