The terrorist group Hezbollah on Monday confirmed that a senior commander was killed in Lebanon.

Hezbollah and its media channels announced the death of Wasim al-Tawil, a senior commander of Hezbollah's Radwan Force, a  special operation unit, on Telegram.

Security sources told Reuters that al-Tawil was driving with another Hezbollah member in the Lebanese village of Majdal Selm when Israeli forces struck their car.

Israel has killed more than 130 Hezbollah members in Lebanon since tensions began flaring in the region after Hamas invaded Israel on Oct. 7, killing about 1,200 people and kidnapping 240 others. Israel has also killed Hamas members in Lebanon since that time, and the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between combatants and civilians, says more than 22,000 people in Gaza have been killed.
