Israel says military has conducted second raid this week in Gaza, expanding ground operation

The IDF stated that it had struck multiple targets on the outskirts of Gaza City.

Israel's military announced its second ground raid in Gaza on Friday, backed with fighter jets and drones, according to reports. 

The Israel Defense Force stated that it had struck multiple targets on the outskirts of Gaza City, according to CBS

A Hamas commander was reportedly killed during the raid, but it has not been confirmed.

The previous raid occurred on Thursday lasted for a few hours and involved battles with militants, according to the IDF. 

Casualties have risen on both sides since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel by the terrorist group Hamas. 

According to Fox News, there have been 8,400 total casualties with most of them being civilians on both sides.
