Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Iran Thursday that, should Tehran attack the country, Israel will respond with retaliatory strikes targeting energy and other infrastructure.

An attack on Israel, Katz said, would free the country from "all constraints," and the response would send Iran "deep into the Stone Age and darkness," The Times of Israel reported

The remarks were made at a Jewish New Year toast with Defense Ministry employees.

Katz said signs indicate that economic pressures are taking a toll on Iran, and Tehran fears an uprising that could topple it. He said that the Israeli Defense Forces are "well-prepared, defensively and offensively" for all possibilities.
