Former Clinton adviser Mark Penn blasted legacy media Tuesday morning for headlines that he considers were favorable to the Iranian regime despite recent military success from the Trump administration and Israel.

Penn, a pollster who over the years has become a sharp critic of what he considers the Democratic Party's leftward shift, claimed headlines from outlets such as the Washington Post and CNN read as Iranian propaganda.

The headlines include "Trump under pressure to end war," "Iran Regime doing well, in control," and "US responsible for missile on school," instead of headlines focusing on U.S. successes like the amount of Iranian warships the U.S. has sunk.

"The press is a drumbeat of negativity favoring the Iran regime," he posted on X. "It’s puzzling at this point how any success is buried. The reality is likely the regime is being pummeled on all sides and has no ability to provide for its people.

"Maybe it can put on a good show for another week or two but its leadership is under immense pressure," he continued. "But that’s not what the American public is getting from mainstream media."

The United States and Israel have been conducting missile strikes on Iran since Feb. 28 and the U.S. has struck more than 5,000 targets since the start of the conflict.
