Fox News producer responsible for posting 'wannabe dictator' on TV screen no longer with network
McCaskill had been a longtime producer for Tucker Carlson.
A Fox News producer responsible for a Tuesday chyron deeming President Joe Biden a "wannabe dictator" is no longer with the network.
The network on Tuesday aired a chyron reading "Wannabe dictator speaks at the White House after having his political rival arrested." The line referenced the arrest and arraignment of former President Donald Trump that occurred earlier in the day.
Alex McCaskill, the producer, confirmed his exit, the Associated Press reported. Former Fox personality Tucker Carlson, on whose show McCaskill had worked, contended he had offered to resign with two weeks notice but was instead told to leave that moment. Carlson did not name McCaskill.
The former host's own relationship with the network ended in April of this year, but the network has not publicly provided a reason for Carlson's ouster. The end of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" did follow the network settling a defamation suit with Dominion Voting Systems.
He has gone on to host a Twitter program, prompting the network to issue him a cease-and-desist letter.
