Fox News giant Neil Cavuto is leaving the network on Thursday, after spending more than 28 years at the anchor's desk, the network has announced.
The “Your World" host will have his last program on Thursday and is one of the last critics of President-elect Donald Trump to depart the conservative network.
Cavuto, who has been a staple at Fox since its inception in 1996, has been hosting three programs across Fox News Media that amount to 12 hours of weekly programming, according to Mediaite.
The network did not disclose the reason for Cavuto's exit, or who would replace him, but acknowledged his legacy in a statement.
“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media,” a Fox News spokesperson told Just The News. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”
New programs to replace Cavuto's shows are expected to be announced in the new year and the current shows will be hosted by a rotation of anchors in the meantime. The outlet also noted that his departure comes at the end of his contract.
