Former Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, a longtime Sunday news show fixture and debate moderator, is out of a job after he disclosed Monday he is leaving CNN after a short three-year tenure.
Wallace, 77, made headlines when he left Fox News in 2021 for its rival and a new streaming service that collapsed after just one month of operation.
He told The Daily Beast on Monday he doesn't have a job lined up but will look for something in podcasting or streaming television.
“This is the first time in 55 years I’ve been between jobs,” he said. “I am actually excited and liberated by that.”
In a statement to The Hill late Monday, CNN CEO Mark Thompson praised Wallace as “one of the most respected political journalists in the news business with a unique track record across radio, print, broadcast television, cable television and streaming.”
Wallace is the son of the late and decorate 60 Minutes correspondent Mike Wallace.
