Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall was wounded outside of Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday and is being treated for his injuries, Fox News anchor John Roberts reported.

Roberts confirmed Hall's injuries while live. Shortly thereafter, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby told reporters of Hall's injuries.

"Our correspondent Benjamin Hall was injured while news gathering outside of Kyiv, Ukraine. We have a minimal level of details right now. Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation quickly unfolds," Roberts said.

"The safety of our entire team of journalists in Ukraine and the surrounding regions is our top priority and of the utmost importance," the Fox anchor said. "This is a stark reminder for all journalists who are putting their lives on the line every day to deliver the news from a war zone. We will update everyone as we know more. Please keep Ben and his family in your prayers."

Other Fox correspondents sent their well-wishes to Hall over Twitter.

Fox News' Bret Baier said he is praying for Hall and added that "covering a war is dangerous business- please keep all of the crews on the ground - and the people there in your prayers - but today - especially Ben."

Fox contributor Kayleigh McEnany asked her followers on Twitter to say a prayer for Hall, whom she called "brilliant and brave."

"I am sincerely praying for @BenjaminHallFNC and his family. Wounded on the ground in Ukraine. Send prayers and good energy to him and all of our crews," Fox News' Matt Finn tweeted.

Hall is not the first western reporter to be severely injured during the fighting. On Sunday, U.S. journalist and Peabody-award winning filmmaker Brent Renaud was killed during fighting in a Kiev suburb.
