Media titan Rupert Murdoch, 92, engaged to retired Russian-born scientist

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who turns 93 on Monday, may have stepped down from his prominent media leadership positions last fall, but his love life still appears active, as he is engaged to marry his girlfriend in what will be his fifth marriage. 

He is engaged to marry retired Russian-born molecular biologist Elena Zhukova, 67, Murdoch's representative said Saturday, according to The Associated Press. 

Zhukova's ex husband is Russian politician and billionaire Alexander Zhukov, and their daughter, Dasha Zhukova, was married to Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

In September, Murdoch stepped down from his positions as Fox Corporation chairman and News Corp. executive chairman. His son, Lachlan Murdoch, took over as sole chairman of both companies. 

Murdoch has six children with three of his four wives. His most recent marriage, with model and actress Jerry Hall, ended in divorce in 2022. Murdoch had been engaged in April 2023 to Ann Lesley Smith for about two weeks before it was called off.
