Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton says Democrats are behaving like Putin with Trump indictment
Fitton said that Republicans are doing something to address the issue, but more should be done
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton compares the Democrats' using the Justice Department to go after their political opponents to Vladimir Putin.
"This is Putin-like in terms of the abuse of power and Congress has got to approach it with urgency," Fitton said on the Thursday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "And I see there's some initial concern, but more is better."
Fitton was referring to the recent indictment and arraignment of former President Donald Trump, which has drawn criticism and been described as a political prosecution.
Earlier this month, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records and conspiracy related to his alleged role in hush money payments to two women. He's the first former president to ever face criminal charges.
Fitton said that Republicans such as House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Oh) are doing something to address the issue with investigations, but there is still more to be done.
"They should be similarly looking at what the special counsel and the Biden folks are up to over at the Justice Department where they're now using the grand jury to investigate the fundraising of Republicans," he stated.
