Zelensky says Ukraine is set to launch a counteroffensive to reclaim Russian-occupied territory
"There is no place for weakness," Zelensky said.
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian military is ready to launch a counteroffensive to reclaim Russian-occupied territory.
"We strongly believe that we will succeed," Zelensky said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "I don’t know how long it will take."
"To be honest, it can go a variety of ways, completely different," he added. "But we are going to do it, and we are ready."
Zelensky said in the interview that the counteroffensive is only about to begin. He also requested more Western-supplied weapons.
The U.S. and other Western countries have given money and weapons in preparation for the Ukraine operation, according to Fox News.
Zelensky stated that Russia’s air superiority would guarantee a "large number" of his soldiers would die in the counteroffensive if they didn’t have the required countermeasures.
"There is no place for weakness," he said.
