The Brooklyn Bridge briefly caught fire Saturday night during New York City's July Fourth fireworks show.

Flames and plumes of smoke appeared at about 9:30 p.m. on the bridge, which connects the city's Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs. The bridge was closed to vehicle traffic but not to pedestrians.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly, and no injuries were reported, according to the Associated Press.

Police told The New York Times, which reports at least four separate fires, the blazes were "very likely" ignited by falling debris from the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks show.
