Djokovic defeats Alcaraz to win Olympic gold in Paris
Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam titles, more than any other male tennis player.
Serbia’s Novak Djokovic defeated Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets, 7-6, 7-6, in the men’s singles gold medal tennis match at the Paris Olympics. It was thrilling tennis by arguably the two top tennis players in the world today played at Roland Garros, the court where the French Open is held each year.
It was a rematch of the 2024 Wimbledon match played just last month in which Alcaraz won in straight sets. Alcaraz also defeated Djokovic last year at Wimbledon in a 5-set match. Djokovic has won 24 Grand Slam titles, more than any other male tennis player.
