On Groundhog Day 2024, groundhog Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, meaning an early spring is expected. 

On Friday, a crowd gathered in Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania to watch the famous groundhog make its annual prediction about spring. 

According to CBS News, Phil doesn't usually see his shadow, but this time he saw it, indicating an early spring.

The ceremony is run by the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, which also takes care of Phil. 

Groundhog Day is a huge tourist draw for Punxsutawney. The town is located about a 90-minute drive northeast of Pittsburgh.
