Former US attorney appointed by Biden likely died of natural causes, police say
The case is still being investigated and police say it will continue to be open until a medical examiner confirms the cause of Aber's death.
Police say that Jessica Aber, the attorney appointed for the Eastern District of Virginia by former President Joe Biden, appeared to have died of natural causes.
On Saturday, Aber, 43, was found dead in her home in Alexandria, Virginia. The Alexandria Police Department said that no foul play was suspected.
"At this time, detectives have found no evidence suggesting that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes," police said in a statement on Tuesday, according to Fox News.
The case is still being investigated and police say it will continue to be open until a medical examiner confirms the cause of Aber's death.
Aber was appointed by Biden in August 2021 and stepped down in January after President Donald Trump's inauguration.
Following her resignation, she said she was grateful for being entrusted with the role she was given.
