Congressman Mike Collins, R-Ga., announced Tuesday that he planned to soon speak with Postmaster General Louis DeJoy regarding issues with the post office.

"I will have a phone call with him early next week... or excuse me, at the end of this week, and I expect to be at Palmetto next week," he said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "We need to be over there and we need to see what's going on in that facility."

Last month, Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., launched an inquiry with Postmaster General DeJoy about reported delays from the processing and distribution center in Palmetto, Georgia, according to Fox 5.

Residents in Georgia have complained about not receiving their letters, checks, or medicine in the mail due to the alleged delays.

"We are seeing a horrendous problem over there in Palmetto, Georgia," he said. "They have not yet allowed us to even come over into this facility to see what it is for ourselves."

Collins, for his part, further warned that such problems were not limited to Georgia, but were affecting the whole United States.
