Honda to move production of next generation Civic hybrid from Mexico to Indiana over tariffs: report

The tariffs on Mexican goods will be imposed April 2.

Honda will move the production of its next Civic hybrid to Indiana to Mexico reportedly over the Trump administration's 25% tariff the he will impose on Mexican imports. 

The move will be in May 2028 and produce 210,000 vehicles, according to Reuters

President Donald Trump announced that he would impose tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods due to illicit drugs such as fentanyl being smuggled into the U.S. at its Canada and Mexico border at “unacceptable levels."

The tariffs will be imposed April 2.
