Hunter Biden was confronted at a White House event on Sunday about House Republicans' plans to investigate him, and it came just two days after Elon Musk released a series of internal documents through an independent reporter regarding how Twitter was involved in suppressing a story about Hunter's laptop.

The White House event was a festive black-tie celebration of the latest Kennedy Center honorees.

The Washington Examiner reports that two reporters approached Hunter Biden and asked him his thoughts on the House Republicans' plans to investigate him and on Twitter CEO Elon Musk releasing the Twitter files.

The president's son reportedly just smiled at them, walked away and gave no response.

The files released included emails about the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story first reported by the New York Post. The emails appear to cite requests from "the Biden team" and "DNC" and include confirmations that Twitter "handled" their requests to delete posts.

Hunter has not yet publicly responded to what has happened.

"This investigation will be a top priority," Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), who will chair the House Oversight Committee next year, said last month, according to the Washington Examiner. "This is an investigation of Joe Biden and why he lied to the American people about his knowledge and participation in his family's international business schemes."
