IRS agent fatally shot during training session at gun range in Phoenix

An IRS agent was fatally shot Thursday at a gun range in Phoenix during a routine training exercise.
The incident occurred at the Federal Correctional Institution Phoenix Firing Range, according to authorities.
The agent was in serious condition when Phoenix Police Department officers arrived, according to Fox News Digital.
As of Friday morning, the agent, who died shortly after arriving at HonorHealth Deer Valley Medical Center, has yet to be identified.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons says multiple federal agencies were using the range through an interagency agreement but that none of its agents was injured in the incident.
The FBI is investigating the incident.
