People rescued from a partially collapsed building near Yale University

Firefighters and other first responders responded Friday to reports of a partial building collapse with people trapped inside just a few blocks from Yale University. 

Eight injured people have been removed from the building already, including two in critical condition and no fatalities, according to the Associated Press. 

Multiple ambulances were spotted at the scene and one person was removed in a stretcher.
