Questions were answered when Prince Harry quickly left London less than an hour after the coronation ceremony of his father, King Charles, on Saturday. He was headed back to California to join his wife, Meghan Markle, in time to take part in his son Prince Archie's 4th birthday.

It turned out that he was in the UK for less than a day, after arriving on a commercial flight Friday evening, according to the New York Post.

Though he attended the Saturday ceremony, he was excluded from sitting with the working royals on the front row at Westminster Abbey, where the ceremony took place, which included his brother William and his wife Kate Middleton, and instead Harry sat in the third row with other relatives of the royal family.

He departed before King Charles and Queen Camilla were joined by other royals on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

There has been a great deal of tension among the family over Harry and Meghan's rejection of the royal family amid charges of racism that were made during the couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey and later in his book, "Spare."

A source told the Post that "there was 'no way' Harry would be invited to the balcony appearance but noted that Charles, 74, 'loves his son' and so 'emotions of the day may just overtake everything.'"
