The U.S. Coast Guard recently suspended a search for a 41-year-old man who went overboard a cruise ship right before Christmas.
The incident happened on the "Vision of the Seas" cruise ship on Saturday, according to a report from NBC News.
The ship was 127 miles east of Charleston, South Carolina when the man went overboard. The incident prompted a search and rescue mission, according to the ship's operator, Royal Caribbean Cruises.
Coast Guard crews searched over 1,625 square miles over eight hours for the man.
"Out of privacy for the guest and their family, we have no additional details to share," a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean said, according to NBC News.
The ship this event occurred on was taking an eight-day, Christmas-themed roundtrip, according to the cruise line's website.
