Team USA wins men's basketball gold medal at Paris Olympics, defeating host nation France

It was Team USA’s fifth straight Olympic gold medal in men's basketball and the fourth time the U.S. and France have met in the Olympic gold medal game, all of which were won by Team USA.

The U.S. men’s basketball team won the gold medal Saturday at the Paris Olympics by defeating the host nation France’s team by a score of 98 to 87.

It was Team USA’s fifth straight Olympic gold medal in men's basketball.

The team’s scoring was led by NBA superstar Stephen Curry who scored 24 points with 8 3-pointers. Other leading scorers on the team were LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Devon Booker.

France was led by Victor Wembanyama, who just finished his rookie season in the NBA. This was the fourth time the U.S. and France have met in the Olympic gold medal game, all of which were won by Team USA, according to ESPN.
