Team USA advances to Olympic men's hockey finals after defeating Slovakia 6-2

The United States' Olympic men's hockey team advanced to the finals Friday afternoon in Italy, after defeating Slovakia by a score of 6-2. They will now face off against Canada for the gold medal on Sunday.
The United States' Dylan Larkin scored the first goal of the game in the first period, followed by Tage Thompson. Team USA scored another three goals in the second period, which were scored by Jack Hughes and Jack Eichel.
Team USA's victory means the United States will medal in men's hockey at the Olympics for the first time since 2010, when the U.S. took home the silver medal against Canada. The last time the U.S. won gold was in 1980 against Finland, after previously defeating the Soviet Union in the medal round in the game frequently referred to as the "Miracle on Ice."

The victory comes after the U.S.'s women's hockey team defeated Canada for Olympic gold during overtime on Thursday.
