Vice President Vance and second lady arrive at US military base in Greenland
The U.S. military base in Greenland, the Pituffik Space Base, is on the northwest coast of Greenland.
Vice President JD Vance and his second lady Usha Vance are expected to tour a U.S. military base in Greenland on Friday.
The trip had to be limited to the base amid opposition from resident of Greenland, which is an autonomous part of Denmark, according to The Associated Press.
This visit comes amid President Donald Trump's attempt to try have some come control over the Arctic island, which he considers a strategic, geo-political position.
Vance said that he would visit some Space Force "guardians" that are stationed in Greenland, and check out the security of the nation.
The U.S. military base in Greenland, the Pituffik Space Base, is on the northwest coast of Greenland.
"I’m gonna visit some of our guardians in the Space Force on the Northwest coast of Greenland, and also just check out what’s going on with the security there," Vance said in a video on X.
