Anna Paulina Luna urges expulsion for House GOP's Tony Gonzales, Dems' Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick
The call comes after a former staffer accused Gonzales on Sunday of seeking a sexual relationship with her in 2020, stating that he sought nude photos from her more than 12 times in three days during his 2020 congressional campaign.
Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna called Monday for the expulsion of two of her House colleagues, including fellow Republican Tony Gonzales of Texas, over their alleged unethical behavior while in office.
The call comes after a former staffer accused Gonzales on Sunday of seeking a sexual relationship with her in 2020, stating that he sought nude photos from her more than 12 times in three days during his 2020 congressional campaign.
Gonzales admitted last month to having had an affair with a former aide who was married at the time and later committed suicide but has not publicly commented on the latest accusation.
"NO means NO," Luna said on X. "I’d vote to expel both him and Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick. Both need to go."
The comment also comes after the House Ethics Committee found Florida Democratic Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick guilty of campaign finance violations late last month.
She was accused of illicitly funneling millions of dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to her family and campaign. She has denied the allegations but did not participate in the panel's trial because of similar federal charges.
