Border state congressman says that the GOP has a better shot at impeaching Mayorkas now
"Alejandro Mayorkas has lied to the American people," Biggs said. "He's made this country more dangerous."
Congressman Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., says that he believes that the House will have a better chance the second time around to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
"When that was finished last time, you had a number of Republicans who were not on the floor who were absent for one reason or another," Biggs said on the Wednesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "Then you had eight that voted no, and six of those people who voted 'no' later said that they would have voted 'yes.' And so, if that's the case, then you would have enough to actually get over the hump, especially since we just filled the seat vacated by Chris Stewart of Utah."
Earlier this month, House Republicans failed to impeach Mayorkas, with eight Republicans crossing over to vote with Democrats.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., on Wednesday reintroduced articles of impeachment against Mayorkas, and Biggs thinks there will be more support this time.
"You might have a shot here – a better shot than we had last time," he said.
Biggs then slammed the Homeland Security secretary, stating he has made the U.S. more dangerous with the unsecured border.
"Alejandro Mayorkas has lied to the American people," he stated. "He's made this country more dangerous ... this is an administration that is lawless and is fomenting what's going on the border."
