Congressman Eli Crane, R-Ariz., said that he is planning to introduce a resolution to give veteran Daniel Penny the Congressional Gold Medal.

"Daniel Penny’s actions exemplify what it means to stand against the grain to do right in a world that rewards moral cowardice," Crane said according to Fox News Digital.

You can read the resolution here:

Penny, a 26-year-old Marine veteran, has been accused of fatally choking a mentally ill homeless man who was threatening to kill riders on a subway car in New York City in 2023.

"Our system of ‘justice’ is fiercely corrupt, allowing degenerates to steamroll our laws and our sense of security, while punishing the righteous," Crane continued. "Mr. Penny bravely stood in the gap to defy this corrupt system and protect his fellow Americans. I’m immensely proud to introduce this resolution to award him with the Congressional Gold Medal to recognize his heroism."

Penny is currently on trial for the death of Jordan Neely, 30. Jury deliberations began last week.

The judge in the trial granted a motion to dismiss a manslaughter charge after the jury said twice on Friday they couldn't agree on the charge.
